Redd’s Apple Ale is releasing its second limited-edition flavor of the year: Redd’s Black Cherry Ale, adding more variety to its refreshing beer lineup. This new beer joins the Redd’s family as part of the Limited Pick series, and will be available nationwide through early 2018.

The refreshing new beer delivers a strong cherry flavor balanced with Redd’s signature apple taste, with delightful tartness in every sip. Its prominent ripe cherry flavor and aroma blend perfectly with its notes of apple, giving the drink a light copper color and an exciting fruit profile. Like the rest of the Redd’s flavors, Redd’s Black Cherry Ale is five percent alcohol by volume.

“Our core fans love Redd’s new flavor offerings and are always asking for more, so we brewed Redd’s Black Cherry to satiate their craving,” said Josh Wexelbaum, MillerCoors marketing director of emerging brands. “This has been a very exciting year for Redd’s filled with well-received new beers. We will keep bringing different ingredients together to create more refreshing beers in the future.”

Featuring the newly designed brand packaging, Redd’s Black Cherry Ale will maintain the same crisp and refreshing taste fans have come to know and love. Redd’s Black Cherry Ale joins Blueberry Ale and Raspberry Ale, two delicious flavors released early in the year, in the Redd’s family of beers.

Redd’s Black Cherry Ale will be available at most grocery and convenience stores in 6-pack 12-ounce bottles, 16-ounce cans and in the variety pack.

Editor’s Note: Redd’s Black Cherry Ale was introduced in 2015.

Launched in the UK: Jim Beam Double Oak

Jim-Beam-Double-OakA new premium expression of Jim Beam, matured using a twice-barrelled production process to bring out greater depth, is to be launched by Beam Suntory in global travel retail.

Jim Beam Double Oak (abv 40%) will be released in July 2016 in a 1 litre format, and in European travel retail will be exclusively available through Heinemann with the addition of a gift bag.

The expression is intended as an innovative new take on Kentucky straight bourbon, and to that end the Jim Beam signature whiskey is matured in two barrels. The first step involves new charred American white oak barrels, as with all the company’s Kentucky straight bourbons, before the whiskey is transferred into a second charred oak barrel for a further period of ageing.

According to the company, this production process allows the product to have greater contact with the wood, “drawing out exceptional and perfectly balanced depths”. The result is a whiskey “intense in flavour yet smooth in taste” that has aromas of vanilla and rich caramel and toffee notes.

Jim Beam Double Oak will be presented in a contoured bottle featuring glass embossing and engraving as well as textured labelling and foiling. This is in line with the introduction of new Jim Beam packaging being rolled out across the entire range globally in 2016.

“More than ever before, consumers are searching for brands with genuine provenance and craftsmanship, so we are very excited to introduce Jim Beam Double Oak to the market,” said Beam Suntory Senior Global Marketing Manager Global Travel Retail Fernando de Vicente Meirás.

Maybe we’ll see it in US stores by Christmas????

NEW Three from Pearl Vodka

Pearl Vodka is refreshing its look and flavor profile for summer, introducing updated packaging and launching three new flavors.

The brand’s new contemporary look includes a new beveled glass inset bottle, a redesigned label, an embossed metal closure as well as a new neck label which will more prominently feature the flavor of the product.

The brand is also introducing three new flavors – Lime Basil, Strawberry Basil and Vanilla Bean – made with natural flavors.

Strawberry Basil is a refreshing mix of red, ripe juicy strawberries with a subtle touch of gardenfresh basil for a taste that celebrates the season. Try it over ice with lemonade, club soda and a splash of fresh lime.

Lime Basil brings together the zest of a lime and the alluring aroma of fresh basil, the perfect combination of citrus and herbs for a refreshing spirit. Try it over ice with lemon-lime soda, grapefruit juice and a splash of sweet and sour mix.

Vanilla Bean combines the smooth delicate vanilla bean flavors found in ice cream with hints of butterscotch and chocolate for a delicious flavor. Mixes well with coffee, cream, ginger beer and cola.

The newly-released flavors will be a part of Pearl’s reinvented Party Packs – a 12-pack sampler of the brand’s most popular flavors as well as Pearl Black. The brand is increasing its social media presence as well by launching @PearlVodka on Instagram, in addition to its Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter engagement.

In addition, fans will be able to enter a sweepstakes, via text message, Facebook or mail, to win a bar cart prize pack, which also includes a bar accessory set, Pearl copper mugs and infusion jar, and a Visa gift card and recipe book this summer.

What would Marty say? SoCo revamps their look

Soco_New_PackagingThe latest addition to the company’s flavored spirit category is packaged in the revamped bottle shape that displays a new icon on the neck and label.

The redesign aims to reflect the brand’s heritage and features the iconic fluted shoulders recognized by consumers.
Jennifer Powell, Southern Comfort US brand director, said: “Caramel Comfort presents an opportunity to strengthen the Southern Comfort franchise by delivering on a decadent and great tasting flavor experience.

Soco_Caramel“Caramel is a versatile and emerging flavor which appeals to both men and women. This new flavor entry can be used in cocktails, as a stand-alone chilled shot or even in dessert drinks.”

The new-look packaging was designed by Helms Workshop, an award-winning creative firm based in Austin, Texas.

Christian Helms, Helms Workshop owner, said: “We challenged the team to consider the entirety of the brand’s history and visual equity, rather than simply focusing on refining the previous packaging.

“We also engaged consumers in a dialogue around brand personality and values to gain insight into how to leverage those aspects of the brand in crafting the new identity.

“As a result we pulled forward and refined elements from the past that communicated Southern Comfort’s unique history while creating new language and iconography that speaks directly to contemporary drinkers.”

Caramel Comfort and the new Southern Comfort packaging will be distributed throughout the US in early March.
