COMING SOON…Bacardi Carta Fuego

bacardi-carta-fuego-700x357Bottled at 40% abv and red in colour, the new release is made from rum aged for a minimum of one year in torched oak barrels, before its passed through charcoal and mixed with a secret blend of flavours and spices.

Named after the Spanish word for “fire”, Bacardi Carta Fuego is described as a “fiery” drink with a “bold, smooth taste” offering flavours of cinnamon, nutmeg, honey and vanilla, with a touch of smokiness.

Consumers are encouraged to enjoy the spirit neat as a shot, or mixed with Coke, but for those who like things extra spicy, Bacardi suggests adding three drops of Tobasco sauce.

“With a long history and a colourful heritage, we make rums that suit all tastes and occasions, and keep the revolutionary fires burning,” Bacardi said in a statement.

“Our new Bacardi Carta Fuego is here to bring the heat. When it’s enjoyed as a shot, you experience the full flavour profile.

“We’ve always been innovators and Bacardi Cart Fuego has been crafted to be enjoyed that way. It’s new and different.”

NEW: XO, G Moscato

xog-moscatoGiuliana Rancic has added Moscato as a new varietal to her wine brand, Xo, G. Available on select Walmart shelves in late spring 2015, the new Moscato is a semi-sweet wine with big, beautiful aromas of ripe peaches, a touch of honey sweetness and a wonderfully refreshing finish. Packaged in an innovative bottle designed for by-the-glass consumption, Xo, G consists of four prefilled, individually sealed, shatterproof, stemless wine glasses that snap together to form a perfect equivalent of a 750mL bottle, wonderful for those who prefer just one glass.

After the success of the initial launch of Xo, G with the Italian Pinot Grigio and the French Rose and Pinot Noir, Rancic was excited to add a Californian wine as a new addition to her wine brand. Rancic was looking to fill the high demand from consumers for a sweeter taste that has been trending in the wine industry. Perfect for summer, Moscato is fruity and sweet in flavor but still light and crisp.

“After hearing the positive reaction from consumers with the initial launch, I did an extensive amount of outreach through social media to find out what new flavors the Xo, G wine buyers wanted,” shares Giuliana Rancic. “As the wine industry is steering towards the sweeter flavors like Riesling and Sparkling Prosecco, it was no surprise that Xo, G consumers were demanding for a fruity Moscato.”

The California Moscato will hit shelves in late Spring and will be sold alongside the ever-so popular Xo, G Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, and Rose.

Produced and bottled at the Hacienda Patrón distillery in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, Patrón XO Cafe Incendio is handcrafted with the same attention to detail and quality as all Patrón tequilas and liqueurs.

Spicy and sweet has long been a staple of Mexican cuisine, and increasingly this exciting culinary trend has found its way into food and drink across the globe. Recognizing this growing enthusiasm for intense taste and flavor, Patrón Spirits has introduced Patrón XO Cafe Incendio, an innovative fiery-hot chile chocolate liqueur.

Patrón XO Cafe Incendio combines the spicy, distinctive flavor of Mexican arbol chile with the rich, decadent essence of Criollo chocolate, brought together with the crisp, smooth taste of Patrón Silver tequila.

“Patrón XO Cafe Incendio is an incredibly versatile spirit. Not only does it create interesting and inventive cocktails, just like the rest of the Patrón XO Cafe line it’s the perfect choice for celebratory occasions that call for an ultra-premium shot,” says Ed Brown, President and CEO at Patrón Spirits. “No other brand in the crowded shot market compares to the taste and quality of Patrón XO Cafe, and no other liqueur comes close to the powerfully spicy hot flavor of Patrón XO Cafe Incendio.”

The Chile de arbol is a small and slender Mexican pepper typically found in the states of Jalisco, Chihuahua and Zacatecas. Thought to be derived from the cayenne pepper, arbol chile is characterized by its smoky and spicy complex flavor, and is the main component in many hot sauces. The high-quality Criollo variety chocolate in Patrón XO Cafe Incendio is produced in Mexico’s Tabasco region.

“The word ‘incendio’ is Spanish for ‘fire,’ and that’s exactly the taste that this unique liqueur evokes.”

Perfect as a shot, or as the base for a high quality cocktail, Patrón XO Cafe Incendio is distilled at 30 percent alcohol by volume, 60 proof.
