In honor of the 89th year since the Kentucky Derby was dubbed the “Run for the Roses,” 89 cups will be available, a news release from Brown-Forman said.
Seventy-nine will be available for $1,000 each and feature a gold-plated, hand-engraved medallion of a Thoroughbred with a traditional Kentucky Derby rose garland.
Another 10 cups, referred to as the royal rose cups, will sell for $2,000 each. They are gold-plated with a sterling silver medallion, featuring a hand-engraved Thoroughbred wearing a rose garland.
All cups will be presented to buyers on Derby Day, which is May 3.
The drink you’ll get: Ice infused with rose water, candied rose petals, mint julep simple syrup and Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select, the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby.
Maybe, when I’m a grown-up.
